Twilight Series Sub Indo The Twilight series is rife with emotional and romantic tension. One of the main attractions in any episode is the romantic connection between protagonists Edward and Bella. The series can be best described as a love story about vampires and was initially marketed as such. However, the later parts of the Twilight saga (from Breaking Dawn to Eclipse) delve much deeper into questions of faith, faithlessness, redemption, righteousness, human nature--not to mention some scenes are quite uncomfortable for Christians to watch. While many of these scenes are arguably effective at making Christian themes more readily accessible for less-devout members of society or even non-Christians, there are scenes that have been problematic for some Christians. For example, there is a scene in New Moon in which Bella and Edward make love for the first time. During the making-love scene, Bella and Edward are fully clothed and Stephenie Meyer repeatedly makes references to God in her description of their intimate moment. Here are some of these references: "Bella thought of God, grateful all over again for him who made her". "Bella's spirit seemed to rise higher as if she were rising toward him". "Bella experienced one of those moments when you think you've died and gone to heaven". '"All of a sudden it wasn't an act of love—it was an act of self-preservation. I was just afraid that I would hurt you." I'd hurt him, too, she thought. But he couldn't know how much. "What if Carlisle was wrong?" Bella asked in a small voice. "What if we really don't have the same soul? What if all this is a terrible accident—if I'm not really a part of your family?" Edward's eyes darkened as he stared deep into hers." "Bella took a deep breath and held it as she gave herself up to the moment, to the point where there was no longer any line between them—no her and no him". "It was Edward's turn to watch her face. He watched it like he would watch the sky at dusk, waiting to see if the sun would rise. "And then she saw that that was exactly what he did—he waited, because he knew she was his." All in all, these references are not bad in and of themselves. However, Christians need to be aware of how often Meyer uses God in both positive and negative ways throughout the series. This is especially important for Christians reading the books--especially since the books are written for a larger audience than just other Christians. On the one hand, Meyer uses God positively to show her characters thanking God for his gifts and blessing. On the other hand, Meyer uses God in a negative way to describe the actions of Christians in a negative way. For example, there is a scene in "Breaking Dawn" when Bella and Edward have joined the Volturi in Italy. Edward must rescue Bella from being executed for destroying an entire village (she thought they were killing babies, but she was really saving them). In this scene, an important Christian character (Alice) yells "I love him! I love him!" repeatedly while pleading with Aro to let them go. cfa1e77820
